The HyperX sounds really good in the lower range with a fairly even response which is slightly boosted to make thump and punch even more noticeable.

In Void RGB Elite, the bass is underemphasized which spreads wider compared to HyperX and this can reduce the feeling of thumb or rumble in your game sound effects. The overemphasizing is also higher than the Cloud 2 and instead of creating a satisfying sound it gives the mix a muddy impression instead. The Void is much better in treble however, because HyperX really under emphasizes the low-treble that can remove the detail and articulation in vocals for music listening purposes.

Next is the control of Corsair Void RGB Elite and HyperX Cloud 2 which is also quite different. If you can’t find a button on the Cloud 2 wired version, it is because all of them are placed on the dedicated in-line remote cable. There are plenty to access here and personally we like a separate control just for its ease of use or to prevent pressing a wrong function. In the Void headset, there are buttons and wheels to control the headset including the dedicated mic-off button.

Lastly is the comfort which is very subjective because it depends on what you are used to or even the hairstyle and whether or not you are wearing glasses. As long as we can get a proper fit the two are very comfortable with a rather tight clamp force, especially by Cloud 2, moreover when it is new. This can make the headphone uncomfortable for prolonged use such as for users with thick hair styles yet, the pressure is even on both ears so they are not too annoying.

As for the Void RGB Elite, this headphone has a fairly loose clamp and is about the same in weight to Cloud 2. It is more comfortable out of the box and probably will fit more people as well, including if you wear a head cover like scarf or glasses yet, the fit also moves easily so we need to fix it from time to time.

What the Void RGB Elite is best at is when it comes to treble so if you are more often listening to songs with bright tops than gaming then this may be the better choice with addition of better comfort. The Cloud 2 is better in delivering the bass-range so it is more promising for gaming as well as music with heavy bass like EDM.
